Quilting is an art form that is uniquely suited for prayer, stress management and just plain ole fun. As we learn to stitch pieces of fabric together, our spirits are revived and inner creativity is released. You are invited to come join this sewing adventure!
This two-part workshop will teach the basics of quilting and applique by hand. After attending these workshops, you will have the skills necessary to make any size quilt you want. All materials will be provided but if you already have a thimble, scissors and some 100% cotton fabric you don’t mind sharing, please bring them along. True beginners are especially welcome!
Please bring your own lunch (fridge and microwave available).
Snacks will be provided.
About the Facilitator: Terri Geiser is a self-taught quilter, with over 30 years experience. She has had the honor of teaching hundreds of women in Central and South America the joy of quilting and used it as an indirect trauma healing technique during her years overseas with MCC. She has previously worked as a therapist and chaplain, and currently is a spiritual director, God/husband/dog lover, and exercise/food groupie in Elkhart. Her deepest calling is the intersection where art, trauma, and faith meet allowing the Holy Spirit’s creative healing power to be at work. Please come join in the fun of learning to quilt!
