About
I opened Somatic Interventions to offer innovative, trauma-informed and body-based mental health services. Rather than using traditional talk therapy, I use novel interventions to establish a sense of safety and empowerment. Treatment begins with the assumption that people are trying their best to cope with their lived experiences. People are more than their problems. This perspective creates a respectful, collaborative, and client-centric relationship.
My experience has been with crisis management, victim advocacy, missing or exploited children, online exploitation, suicide prevention, substance use disorders, and trauma. I have advanced training and/or certifications in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Collaborative Assessment of Suicide Management (CAMS) Somatic Yoga, and Seva Acupressure.
My vision is to apply these interventions to a wider range of common mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, life-stage transitions, assertiveness, relationships, and stress-related difficulties. Becoming a Pathways Retreat network member is an exciting opportunity to give and receive from other professional and spiritual counselors.
