Linda Lehman Thomas

Linda Lehman Thomas graduated from Goshen College, Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary and is ordained for ministry by Mennonite Church USA. Linda is a certified spiritual director and a minister/trainer of Gestalt Pastoral Care (GPC), a contemplative, awareness-based form of spiritual care integrated with gestalt therapy. Her interest in trauma led to certification as a TRE provider, an educational perspective that retrains the body how to release tension and bodily-held trauma. She continues learning through GPC continuing education events, workshops at Cleveland Gestalt Institute and other educational opportunities.
Throughout 2019, Linda is focusing on meeting with people for GPC in groups or individually, as data is being collected for an evidence-based study exploring spirituality and psychology. She understands her ministry as one of accompaniment, particularly accompanying people who find themselves in places of pain or difficulty and are seeking God’s healing presence. She has particular experience and interest in areas of sexual abuse, trauma, grief, and addiction.
She has been Steve’s life partner for 36 years and is the mother of four children ages 14-30. She is an active member of Walnut Hill Mennonite Church. Daily she tries to do something enjoyable that is primarily nonproductive. These things include playing the piano, singing, walking in the woods, attending her son’s sporting events, and playing games.
