"It was wonderful to use the Anglican prayer beads. They helped me to focus. They encouraged me to praise God. They assured me of God's love for me." - a Pathways guest

Contemplative Sit

Tuesdays, 8:00-8:30am
Sitting in silence under the loving gaze of God.
During this prayer time the invitation is to sit quietly, breathe, relax and deepen your ability to settle into your own presence and the presence of Divine Love already at home within.
Facilitated by Pathways Co-directors.

Lectio Divina

Wednesdays, 8:00-8:30am
(optional) 20 min. of tea and talk time to follow
Combines slow, conscious reading of a biblical or sacred text with contemplation and silent prayer. Lectio leads us into the deeper meaning of scripture and the transformation of our lives.
Facilitated by Pathways Co-directors.

Centering Prayer

Thursdays, 8:00-8:30am
Rooted in the prayer tradition of the Psalms, we gather to “Be still and know God.” The intention is to enter into the pure, unknowable presence of the Mystery we call God. As a way to return to this intention, a sacred word is chosen to repeat silently to yourself.
Facilitated by Pathways Co-directors.

Praying with Creation

Fridays, 8:00-8:45am
Creation prayer will continue during COVID-19 with two changes:
  • the entire prayer time is outside (so dress accordingly);
  • participants observe physical distancing, standing at least 6 feet apart during the gathering times.
A prayer time to listen and meditate in and with nature, with others.  Facilitated by Deron Bergstresser, this prayer practice arises from a deep desire for connection and care of the environment. One response to environmental concerns is to deepen our relationship with nature, to see God alive in nature and to experience and love God there. Read more...

Iona Healing Prayer

Mondays, noon – 12:30pm

In the Christian monastic hours of prayer, the noon prayer takes place during the Hour of Illumination (sext). In this service, we name particular people, places, and situations for which prayers have been specifically asked. There is also opportunity for those who wish to receive or share in the ministry of the laying-on of hands for oneself or for another person. Requests for prayer may be given to any Pathways co-director or written down and placed on the prayer tree in the Gratitude Room throughout the month.  Requests for prayer may now also be submitted via this form. This is the same service that happens Tuesday evenings at Iona Abbey, Scotland.
We invite you to pray through the past Monday's liturgy individually or with a group.

These weekly and monthly prayers create a rhythm of prayerful life at Pathways Retreat.
All are invited - no cost or registration needed. Facilitated by Pathways Directors.

Questions?  Ask them online or call 574.202.2864
NOTE:  If Goshen Community Schools have a school cancellation or delay, on-site morning prayers are cancelled as well. Prayers on Zoom happen regardless of weather.
