Advent Visio Divina

Fridays,  Dec. 2, 9, 16

$25 a session, $75 total
 
Visio Divina (divine seeing) combines the traditional process of Lectio Divina (divine reading) with the creative art process. During each session, participants create a piece of work through painting, drawing, or collage. Then, are invited to dwell with their piece-noticing, connecting, discerning, and responding. No art experience is necessary. Visio Divina is a practice that invites one to see beyond first impressions and below initial ideas, judgments, and understandings and to be surprised by God who speaks through the creative process. Sessions are facilitated by Sylvie Gudin Koehn.

Advent Embodied Prayer

Tuesdays, Dec. 6, 13, 20
7:00-8:00pm
$10/session
 
Embodied prayer integrates movement, meditation and prayer. In these sessions you are invited to breathe and center, listen to an advent reading, and respond with body and movement to invitation that arises.  Simple and basic yoga poses are introduced. No yoga experience is necessary. Participants may participate in one or all sessions.  Sessions are facilitated by Melissa Schroeder.

Lectio Divina for Advent

Friday Mornings
8:00-8:30am

If you would like to enter more deeply into scripture during the season of Advent, join us for Lectio Divina, Friday mornings, 8-8:30am. We read an advent scripture aloud together, leaving space for listening, noticing, responding, and resting in the Word of God praying within us. In this practice we do not so much read scripture as scripture reads us. This is an opportunity to slow down, center and dwell in the Word .
