Group & Individual Retreats

Pathways offers a variety of retreat spaces for individuals and small groups in the retreat house.

Group Retreats
Pathways offers day retreat space to groups that seek a prayerful place to meet. Perhaps your small group, pastoral team, planning committee or board would like to meet in a place that provides a contemplative atmosphere for listening and learning together.  See below for room descriptions.

Group retreat rates vary depending on group size, rooms reserved, intended use, and length of retreat.
Click here for our standard group rates or contact Pathways for more information.

Individual Retreats
There are three cozy individual retreat rooms on our lower level that may be reserved for a half- or full-day personal retreat. See below for descriptions.

Suggested donation for individual retreats:
Half-day:  $15-20*
Full-day:  $30-40*

For guided retreats with a contemplative focus, please contact Pathways Retreat for rates and information.

Please note that we are a day retreat center and do not provide overnight accommodations in the retreat house.
Guests are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and may use the kitchen. Meals are not provided.
Here is a list of local restaurants that offer both eat-in and carry-out options, and may provide delivery service as well.

Use the form at the bottom of this page to request retreat space.
* We gratefully receive what you are able to give. Those who give more make it possible for us to serve those who give less.
First time guests, please find information about arrival here.
For help in structuring your retreat, feel free to use our Guide for First Time Retreatants.  We also have many other prayer resources available on our Prayers and Practices page.

Main Level of Retreat House

There are three entrances to the main floor: the north and south porches and back entrance. The north porch (main entrance) provides easy access to an accessible restroom and Linda's office. The south porch opens to the library and is the entrance to use for guests meeting with Julie in the upper level. The back entrance provides access to the lower level of the retreat house.

Gratitude Meeting Room

“Gratitude” is the name of our sunlit main floor meeting room, which accommodates gatherings of up to 20 people. The kitchen is ready for hospitality, with a sink, dishwasher, full-size oven, microwave oven and refrigerator.  Coffee, tea and filtered water are always available for guests, as well as trail mix. Morning prayers are held in this space.

Library

Our library room provides space for up to four people to meet, and houses our collection of spirituality books available for loan.

Approach the stairs through the south porch entrance to reach the upper level of the Retreat House.

Upper Prayer Room

The upper prayer room provides an intimate space for communal prayers, and accommodates small groups of up to six people who are comfortable on floor seating.

Co-director Office

Julie’s office is located through the prayer room on the upper level.

Legacy House refers to the existing Retreat House prior to the 2015 addition, and includes the welcome room, library, washroom, and upper prayer room. It is accessed through the south entrance.

Lower Level of Retreat House

The lower level of the Retreat House has restroom facilities and three rooms that may be reserved for individual retreats.

The names of the retreat rooms are borrowed from Reinhold Niebuhr's well-known Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

To make a reservation, click on a button below and send an e-mail requesting the room, date and length of time you'd like to reserve the space.

Serenity

Serenity features images of labyrinths and paths.  The oak desk, rocker, and yellow chair that pulls out into a bed provide space for reflection and rest.

Courage

Courage is also sometimes known as the sunrise room as its windows face the east.  Evan Miller, meets with individuals in this space. A cherry desk and comfortable red chair make this a welcoming space for spiritual direction and personal retreats.

Wisdom

Wisdom features cobalt blue glass, a walnut desk, and a comfy chair that pulls out into a bed. Artwork from the series of Dancing Monk paintings by Marcy Hall adorn the walls. An inviting space for those seeking wisdom.
