St. Francis Animal Blessing

Everything was a mirror for Saint Francis. What he saw in the natural world, in the sky, in animals, and even plants was a reflection of God’s glory.

Sunday, October 1, 4pm
Each October, near the Feast Day of St. Francis (Oct. 4) we invite you to bring your pets for a blessing . St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226) had the marvelous ability of seeing every living thing as a beautiful gift from God. He called the sun, the moon, and all the creatures of the earth his brothers and sisters. In honor of his feast day, we bless our beloved and faithful friends. This includes a walk through the woods and a short blessing service followed by snacks. If your pet is not able to travel, consider bringing a photo.

Please bring your own chair for this outdoor event and check our website home page if the weather is questionable.
