Look at the birds in the sky. They don’t sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet our God in heaven feeds them. (Matthew 6:26a) While it is true that God feeds the birds, at Pathway's Retreat we've decided to help out a little by maintaining bird feeders at the cottage and the retreat house. Actually, maintaining these feeders has less to do with feeding the birds, and more to do with enticing them to come out of the woods so that we can enjoy them more easily. Two avid bird watchers recently reported that they were surprised to see the quantity and diversity of birds at Pathways: cardinals, juncos, tit mouse, nut hatch, a variety of wood peckers, blue birds, and many other species.
You can partner with us to feed these birds. They go through one or two 40 pound bags of mixed bird seed a month. If you'd like to be a bird patron, contact the volunteer coordinator for more information.
