Dave entered the counseling field as a Licensed Professional Counselor 20 years ago by an invitation and a calling. The invitation was God leading Dave to deeper levels of personal healing and a greater experience of God’s presence and Grace. The calling was to go forth, create healing spaces for others and equip those called to do the healing work and ministry of Jesus. Viewing this work as missional and spiritually formative, Dave has integrated psychology and counseling modalities with theology and spiritual formation. He views himself as a spiritual companion to those who are in need of deep healing from devastating trauma, profound suffering and enslaving addictions. To effectively do this, Dave acquired further training and certifications in trauma therapy, sex therapy, gestalt therapy, spiritual direction/formation. His dissertation was a process of fine-tuning the SIIMDA Soul Care holistic model.
Dave enjoys teaching, training and equipping others for the healing work of Jesus, which the development of the SIIMDA Soul Care model and training program is an outgrowth of this passion. Dave loves leading healing retreats where he is honored to have a front row seat in witnessing the Holy Spirit’s work bring healing and freedom to those suffering from significant wounding and trauma. It is Dave’s prayer and passion that all will come to know the healing power and touch of Jesus. |
